family holiday in the Cape South Africa

Hermanus family holiday

Hermanus and the surrounding area delighted us on the last leg of our family holiday.  In my last two posts we went to Seapoint and Elgin Valley.

Hermanus transfixed us with its stunning scenery and amazing food. Hermanus is easy to explore on foot, the beautiful promenade runs along the length of the town; with fantastic sculptures decorate the route.  Restaurants are tucked into the rock face or along the coastal road overlooking the sea.

The drive from Hermanus back to Cape Town is incredible, I would say it must be one of the best drives in the world, a real bucket-list must do. We stopped to watch the surfers down in the bay who were also being watched over by the official shark spotters.

And to end,  this is what my  family does when I ask for a family portrait.  As you can see they take it so “seriously”.  To all the moms out there who think it is just your families who don’t or won’t pose for the yearly family shot, mine are definitely worse!
